1.Why does the woman go to speak with the man?

To get an employment application for her roommate

2.What did the woman think about the workshop she had previously attended at the dormitory?

She was surprised to find that the workshop was worthwhile.

3.What does the woman imply about the two fitness sessions that the man describes?

She would like to try the less physically demanding session.

4.What point does the man make about the canoe trip he mentions?

The woman can enter a contest to go on the trip for free.

(解析:考查最后一句中“t”的失爆Transportation, lunch and the canoe rental around the house and lessons aren't required.)

5.Why does the woman say this:

“Sounds like a plan.”

To acknowledge that the man’s suggestion was good

Woman

I've attended a nutrition workshop in my classmate's dormitory. Her dorm advisor organized it.

Employee

Oh, how was that?

Woman

I definitely did not think I'd enjoy it.

Explaining Declines in Migratory Bird Populations,

Paragraph 1 suggests that which of the following statements is true of the nationwide system of local censuses in the United States?

United States bird watchers have a nationwide system of local bird censuses, and, starting in the 1970s and 1980s, these counts revealed dramatic decreases in the numbers of some Neotropical migrants such as wood thrushes and cerulean warblers in certain areas—as much as 1 percent annually for the past 30 years.

A) It existed before the 1970s.

B) It was extended beyond the United States in the 1970s and 1980s.

C) It is more effective in the eastern United States than it is in the western United States.

D) It was replaced in the 1980s.

Until children learn to act appropriately around others, they might behave in undesirable ways. Which of the following do you think is the most negative behavior a child might display?

- Being selfish

- Saying impolite things

- Being loud

Choose ONE behavior and explain why you think it is the most negative. Use reasons and examples in your response.

1) I believe that for children who haven’t learned to act appropriately, being selfish is the most negative behavior. While saying impolite things and being loud can be more considered as social manners and can be gradually corrected as time goes by, it will be relatively hard to change one’s characteristics that are formed at an early age. That is to say, a kid could say impolite things because he didn’t actually know what that means or be very loud since they are trying to appeal attention. But if a kid is selfish when little, he or she will be very unlikely to become a selfless person even after proper education.

2) I believe that for children who haven’t learned to act appropriately, saying impolite things is the most negative behavior. Although people are usually more tolerating when children say bad things because they think that children don’t actually know what that means. In fact, even if it is true that children don’t know the meaning of the words they are saying, they are very sensitive to people’s attitude during the conversation when they first heard or learned such words. Therefore, they are actually aware of the malevolence behind the words and was trying to impose it on others when they say so. So, it’s not about whether they understand what they are saying but about the attitude behind the words.

3) I believe that for children who haven’t learned to act appropriately, being loud is the most negative behavior. Since I travel a lot, the thing that I hate the most is to have a kid who wouldn’t stop screaming sitting around me. Although some people says that such behavior is a sign of demanding attention, in most cases that I encounter, their mother was patient enough and have tried their best to keep their kid quiet. Comparing to saying impolite thing or being selfish, being loud is definitely more disturbing and annoying in most occasion since it affects more people and is more common.
