It contains a type of metal rarely found in Earth's crust.

4. According to GertaKeller, what does the presence of fossils in the clay and spherule layerssuggest about the iridium layer?

that the iridium layer was deposited long after theclay and spherule layers were

5. What did Gerta Keller conclude from her research at el Penon?

that the asteroid that created the crater in NortheasternMexico might not have led to the extinction of the dinosaurs

6. What is the professor'sopinion of Gerta Keller’s findings?

They are unlikely to be accepted very soon by mostscientists who support the asteroid theory.

Industry during the Rome Empire

What could happen when a revolutionary technique was applied was shown by the explosive growth of the glass industry after the invention of glassblowing, but this stands almost in isolation in all the centuries of Roman industrialization.

A. The enormous growth of the glass industry after the introduction of new glassblowing techniques demonstrates the success of Roman      industrialization.

B. Many centuries of industrialization passed before the Romans applied revolutionary techniques to the glass industry.

C. The invention of glassblowing demonstrated what could happen when a technique from one industry was applied to another.

D. Glassmaking is about the only example of a Roman industry that was transformed by the introduction of a new technique.

Ocean Acidification(海洋的酸化)文章串讲

第2段,进入结果影响部分,段首主题句“Evidence from extinction event that killed all dinosaurs can be used to understand the potential effects of acidification on ocean life.”,表明海水酸化对海洋生物造成影响,但是本段并没有直接论述碳酸对海洋生物有怎样的影响,而是以白垩纪恐龙的灭绝事件来做类比。

Question: At some schools, some lessons for young students (ages5—8) include video games as a way to increase the students’ interest in learning. Some people believe this is a very effective way for young students to learn; others believe it is too distracting and waste time. Which view do you agree with, and why?

一方面,思考5-8岁的孩子有什么特征?答案可以是:好奇心强喜欢探索、好动且缺乏自制力、集中注意力的时间较短等等;
